Well, we got our first mini break away from the farm for four days, recently. We went to Denmark (down near Albany), and had a lovely time. On the way home we arranged to go and see Mt Weld Elora, who was rescued from the station of the same name near the Goldfields, along with a number of others, by Rob Forster and friends (with help from Barrick Gold Mining), in 2006. Never a dull moment in the country! We’ve got the vet coming today because two of our more dominant mares (Betsy and Lorna to be exact), decided to have a fight to establish who was boss and before we got there Betsy suffered a nasty bite which will need stitches. Read more…
Well it’s that time of year again down on the farm, and a couple of days ago, Gunnadorrah Tom Thumb (the very handsome little chocolate taffy stallion rescued from a station on the Nullabor two years ago) came to stay a while with 3 mares at Wadi Farm – 2 from previous rescues and an older Waler mare.
