Police Horse Moonlight

July 14th, 2009

Moonlight (Earaheedy Lorna x Redgum Malachi) is almost 5.5 months old now. She was weaned early because she’s so big and her Mum, Lorna, had lost a serious amount of weight (even though she was being hard fed) from the late season, poor pasture and (mainly!) putting everything into her mega foal.

Moonlight is in with Wanda and Marlin now, our other two smaller weanlings who are over 6 months old and doing just fine.

Moonlight has been donated to the Mounted Police and will be assessed again at one year old to see if she’s suitable. (If not my husband is eying her off as his future all round riding horse, she’s maturing so well!)

Anyhow we had visitors the other day so I took some photos of children and foals, always a cute combination!

I sure hope Moonlight is “suitable” for the mounted police. She`ll have a long and good life with them, I`m sure. She`ll certainly be big enough to hold her own in a crowd!

ps. this is a great website.
